Legacy & Heritage
The legacy of PGS dates back to 1890, when it was established in Guangzhou as "Changchundong Pangaoshou"，a name that carries the auspicious wish for "longevity." In 1935, it pioneered the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with modern manufacturing by introducing "Chuanbei Pipa Syrup." In the 1980s, PGS launched a series of cough-relieving products that filled gaps in the market. It earned the title of "China Time-honored Brand" in 2006, and its core techniques were recognized as intangible cultural heritage in 2008. In 2017, PGS took the lead in the industry by advocating the "Classified Treatment of Cough" concept. Over more than a century of evolution, PGS has grown into a renowned, modern state-owned pharmaceutical enterprise specializing in TCM-based cough and expectorant care.
